Coordinates from November 2021

Another quiet month but as usual, no apologies. I've been busy and the weather has been heating up, ugh.

My first coord came a third of the way through the month, and was just a casual work from home look. Truth be told, I only dressed up because James was bringing an old friend over to hang out and so I needed to get out of my PJs! But still, a cute and comfy coord, so I'm happy. I did end up doing a quick run to the grocery store after work, and I always like doing that in lolita!

Skirt & Wristcuffs: Handmade
Cutsew, Beret & Cherry Clip: Offbrand
Socks & Shoes: Bodyline

The following week I wore lolita to WFH for very similar reasons. I thought I was going to run errands in my lunchbreak (but James ended up doing it for me, isn't he lovely?) and we had a tradie coming over in the morning, and I was visiting a friend after work,. Meaning I had to wear respectable clothing anyway, so why not lolita?

Excuse the blown-out doorway impacting my photo, we're getting into the eye-searing half of the year over here.

Skirt: Victorian Maiden
Bow Clips: Me Likes Tea
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

I actually chose this outfit because I wanted to wear the new sailor top I picked up from Dangerfield. I deliberately bought it to go with lolita, and I consider it's first outing a success!

So that's it for November. Like I say, quiet, but there's nothing wrong with quiet. How was your month, in lolita and in life in general?

Coordinates from January 2021

I was honestly expecting January to be a very quiet month on the lolita front given that I return to working in the office and didn't start the month with anything much planned. But life, and lolita, finds a way!

My first coord in January was worn for our 10-year anniversary lunch. James and I went to the restaurant where we decided to get engaged, which was on our 7-year anniversary. I wanted to wear lolita, and I wanted it to be an outfit where I could showcase the wonderful necklace he had made (by the same jewellers who did our wedding rings) for me for this anniversary which features a piece of paua shell he found the day before our wedding. So I went with a very simple outfit all in black, and I really love how it turned out!

Skirt: Victorian Maiden
Cutsew: The Black Ribbon
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

On my first day off after my first week back at work James and I ran some errands and did a bit of op-shopping, and I unexpectedly felt like wearing lolita...so I did! My inspiration for this outfit was that was would be wearing my pink face mask into the shops, so I wanted a coord that would match it well enough ^__^

JSK: Metamorphose temp de fille Teddy Chocolatier
Blouse & Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

James took these shots for me on our way to the shops - we've driven past this "imagine" sign many times but never stopped. It was windy but fun!

On 20 January, which incidentally is James’s birthday, the two of us went to an event by the local Council. It turned out to be a rather shitty experience, but I did wear a simple coord (and braided James’s hair, which looked super adorable) so that was something.

Skirt & Headbow: Handmade
Cutsew: The Black Ribbon
Shoes: Bodyline
Socks: Offbrand

So for my first month back to "normal life" three coords in genuinely not bad! Let's see how the rest of the year pans out ^__^

Coordinates from 1-15 October 2020

Can you believe it? I've been wearing lolita enough this month that it's time for a half-month coord round up! That makes me very happy so let's get right to it ^__^

On October 1st I had a Zoom staff meeting, so needed to be work appropriate from the waist up. For a while I've been wondering how this work top of mine would look with my Victorian Maiden skirt so I figured this was as good an opportunity as any to give it a shot. In the end, this outfit isn't necessarily lolita (no petticoat, gasp), but it's my blog so I'm counting it!

Skirt: Victorian Maiden
OTKS: Innocent World
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand

I am actually really happy with how this outfit turned out! Like, I wouldn't wear it for a meetup but I think overall that this shirt and skirt combo did work out nicely enough for a "work lolita" look.

I wore lolita again to my counselling appointment the next day. I'd actually had a version of this outfit pulled out since the previous weekend but hadn't worn it, so this was a good opportunity! The weather turned quite warm though, so I did switch up the choice of outerwear and legwear. I loved this outfit and felt super cute wearing it.

JSK: Metamorphose temps de fille Teddy Chocolatier
Bolero: Peace Now
Shoes: Bodyline
Bear Ears: Maidreamin
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

I took a few days off until Wednesday the following week, where I threw on a coord for all of two hours for a currently secret project. I was struggling to take a coord shot on my own that didn't show too much leg and where my stockings weren't rolling down, and in the end settled for a cramped mirror selfie in my wardrobe. I'm all class ^__^

JSK: Metamorphose temps de fille Rose Stripe Shirring
Bolero: Maxicimam
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

Then I felt like it was an eternity until I wore lolita again, but really it was just over a week til I wore another WFH outfit. What I found really odd is that as I was flicking through my wardrobe to pick what to wear, I actually really wanted to wear my handmade green floral skirt! Yes, the one that I'm always contemplating getting rid of since it's kind of boring. Weird. But I'm not complaining (though I'm taking this as a sign I should stop complaining about this skirt)...

Skirt: Handmade
Cutsew: The Black Ribbon
Shoes: Bodyline

So that's the first half of October in coordinates! It's been a good month and just keeps on going ^__^

Coordinates from July 2020

Almost the first half of July passed with nary a coordinate. I've been cold and stressed and just not up for it. But then things settled down, I felt my creativity starting to return, so I decided to knuckle down and resume the daily work coords.

We start this coord round up on 13 July, a chilly but decidedly average Monday...

JSK: Metamorphose temps de fille
Bolero & Headbow: Angelic Pretty
Scarf: Sweet Dreamer
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

I love Teddy Chocolatier so much! It's cute and comfy and this time I tried to go as mint as possible with it, which still isn't that mint. I also wore my new MeLikesTea petticoat for the first time and oh my goodness it felt amazing to have a proper petticoat again. I hadn't realised that my lack of poof actually made me feel kind of bad about my coords but apparently it did!

So yes, wearing this coord made me feel happy and good about myself, which was really nice! The only thing I'm not 100% sold on is the ankle socks layered over the lace socks, but I wanted more mint down the bottom and that is literally all I have in that department!

The next day I will admit that I only stayed properly dressed for about two hours - it was really windy and I just had to get warm! But I still really loved my outfit and I'm glad I wore it ^__^

Skirt: Handmade
Cutsew, Wristcuffs, Bracelet & Necklace: Angelic Pretty
Bolero: Heart E
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

I was actually really happy with my accessories, so I asked James to grab a hand photo for me, and I just love it!

Next day was a simple outfit, so no further ramblings! But I will say I take back any negative thing I ever said about Shirring Princess, I love this dress ^__^

JSK: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Headbow: Handmade
OTKS: Jane Marple
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

I was lazy on Thursday and stayed in my PJs, so flash forward to the following Monday!

JSK: Metamorphose temps de fille
Kimono: Vintage:
OTKS: Innocent World
Flower Crown: Lyris Design
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

Now this outfit I have some very, very mixed feelings about. First of all, not too happy with my headwear and shoe choice, they're too heavy. but the combination of JSK and kimono is what really gets me. It's sort of great and at the same time doesn't really work. So I'm a bit conflicted about this outfit, and won't be repeating it. However, I'm really glad I experimented with it!

On Tuesday I had a Zoom staff meeting, so I had to be work appropriate from the waist up, so my coord isn't anything special at all. But I still tried something new with the blue accents and while it's not exciting I'm still glad I did a new thing. I also discovered that my new petti is too big/long for this skirt!

Skirt: Victorian Maiden
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand

I also hope you enjoyed this cameo appearance by Panda, who actually looks good for once ^__^

Wednesday was cold, Thursday I had to physically go to the office, and then I had a five-day weekend (because oh boy did I need a break!) so now we jump to the following Wednesday and an attempt at an OTT coordinate, because why not!

Skirt, Shoes & Black Sock: Bodyline
Cutsew: The Black Ribbon
Bolero, Wristcuffs, and Candy Bracelet: Angelic Pretty
Pink Sock: Handmade
Everything else: Taobao

I love the concept and colours of this outfit, but I think I needed more interesting OTKS to really capture the OTT vibe. I wanted to do mis-matched shoes so I thought the contrasting socks was a good idea, but looking back I think I should have chosen differently in that department. But still this was a very fun outfit and I'm keen to try more OTT (ish) sweet since now I actually feel like I can.

I also want to shout out to James since he had to take two set of photos for me - we initially went into the backyard but the sun came out and the colours blew out since my phone can't handle bright light. But he took cute pouty selfies as I got into position outside, so have one of those ^__^

On Thursday I was feeling pretty under the weather so that's that for July! While it was good to have a bit of a break from wearing lolita while working, it also felt really good to get back into it and I'm keen to share a lot more outfits with you soon ^__^

Monday, 1 June 2020

Coordinates from 16 - 31 May 2020

Starting this post with - you guessed it - more working from home coords!

First up, Monday meant more wa lolita with my Victorian Maiden skirt. I promise I'll try wa with a different skirt sometime!

Skirt: Victorian Maiden
Kimono & Obi: Vintage
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand

I am so much happier with this outfit than my first attempt (though my apologies for the blown out pictures, the light was so weird outside). I figured out a better way of folding the kimono up (it's all tucked into the petticoat) and my obi tie is so much better. Better enough that I can actually show you the back this time! I also chose to make my peeking petticoat a deliberate feature ^__^

There's still a lot of room for improvement, and it's kind of not the most flattering look on me, but I'm so pleased to have done a better job already that it's got me excited to try more.

Next day I had a lot of Zoom meetings for work, so I made sure that I looked work appropriate from the waist up. So a fairly simple coord, but nice all the same and I enjoyed wearing pink with this skirt.

Skirt & Headbow: Handmade
Socks: Metamorphose temp de fille
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand

I skipped wearing lolita for the rest of the week, I was so swamped with work (and also kind of sick and stressed) that I did not have the energy for it. And that's okay!

Next Monday I reached a point with my lolita outfits...I repeated a coord from earlier in the year! Shocks and shame! Well, it's not a complete repeat, just the main piece and cutsew combo, but still. I mean, I'm not actually shocked or ashamed, I just really liked this outfit and wanted to wear it again, but it feels weird to be wearing lolita so much that I've come around to repeating coords and it being okay, you know?

Also, I didn't put shoes on because it was raining outside so I decided I could not be arsed. Why wear shoes just to stand up literally half a meter away from the desk where I was working? Ultra casual lolita FTW!

JSK: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Cutsew: Drug Honey
Headbow: Angelic Pretty
Socks: Offbrand

I promise I'll wear Shirring Princess in a non-casual outfit someday!

On Tuesday I pulled out my BTSSB tartan and once again coorded the sweet dress in a more classic way. I rather like how it turned out and it's certainly not a coord I'd have come up with if I wasn't trying new things with working from home.

JSK & Capelet: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Beret: Peacockalorum
Socks: Innocent World
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand

Thursday turned out to be a pyjama day, and I'm okay with that. There's a lot going on right now (some of which is very exciting and I'll share about it in a month or so) so I'm trying to be gentle with myself. Wearing lolita is great, but so is staying warm and cosy.

Buuuut skipping Thursday lead to me skipping the rest of the week working from home, oops! However, I redeemed myself slightly by wearing a quick and casual coord to catch up with some friends.

Skirt: Metamorphose temp de fille
Cutsew, Bag & Bracelet: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

All we did was get drive thru fast food, then sit in a park to eat it, but it was still really amazing to actually see friends IRL. Pandemic is weird man.

So all in all my round up post for the latter half of May only has five coords! It's hilarious to me that I'm feeling a bit sheepish about that - it shoes how quickly something becomes normal. I should have had 8-10 coords for this period! But it doesn't really matter, I enjoyed wearing lolita when I did and I hope you liked seeing these coords ^__^

Friday, 1 May 2020

Coordinates from 16 - 30 April 2020

I have to say, it feels absolutely surreal to be posting so many outfits! Very, very good but also just...odd. I've never worn lolita this much before and I'm loving it!

Continuing right along with the working from home outfits, here's a cute outfit (but a terrible self-taken photo, ugh) with Jurassic Party. I don't have any further commentary on this outfit, but I liked it.

Skirt: Wonderpunk
Headbow: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

I had a long-long weekend (Friday to Monday, yee-hah!) after this, so didn't wear lolita until the next Tuesday when I pulled out another sweet-wa coordinate (aka wore my haori again) this time with Teddy Chocolatier.

JSK: Metamorphose temp de fille
Haori: Vintage
Socks & Necklace: Angelic Pretty
Everything else: Offbrand/taobao

I was much happier with this coord than the last time I wore this haori, but I'm not chuffed on my sock/shoe combo. Oh well, still a cute and comfy outfit and not liking some aspects means I can totally tweak it and wear it again without it being a repeat ^__^

Wearing wa inspired me to...wear more wa! Ever since we bought kimonos in Japan (which I will post about eventually) I've wanted to try wearing a kimono as a top paired with a lolita skirt and finally I did!

Skirt: Victorian Maiden
Kimono & Obi: Vintage
Socks & Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/taobao

I'm a bit love it/hate it with how this turned out. Aesthetically I think it really works, and I love the combo of kimono, skirt and obi. It was also surprisingly comfortable! However...I'm just bad at wearing kimono and tying obi, and at folding the kimono up properly (sorry about that bit hanging out!). None of this is surprising because this is the first time I've done either other than practising the obi a little bit the night before. It's a bit embarrassing to do such a poor job, but at the same time...for a first time, not bad! Hence the mixed feelings.

However, overall I enjoyed this kind of style so I hope to wear it more and get better at doing so! And James really liked it too, which is always a plus. Husband compliments make me feel a hundred times better about any outfit!

Following that I wanted something very simple for Thursday's working from home day, so pulled out my trusty Berry Stripe. Nothing much to say about this coord!

OP: Metamorphose temps de fille

Socks & Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/taobao

Friday turned into a photoshoot day (check out my Facebook for some cool stuff!) rather than a writing day, so fast forward to the following Monday where the working from home continues!

Since it was a Monday I wore another pretty simple outfit with a bit of a twist...when picking accessories I just chose what made me happy! Hence the Disney ears and the unflattering UTKS. Not perfectly coordinated and honestly a bit weird, but just what I felt like wearing on the drizzly Monday. And James got me to do silly poses (which are honestly so me) so basically, yeah, this is ita and I don't care.

OP: Metamorphose temp de fille Egg Art
Bolero: Peace Now
Socks & Shoes: Bodyline
Ears: Tokyo Disneyland
Bracelet: Closet Child

I also went out (sans ears) in my lunchbreak to do some groceries and a lady asked me if I was wearing an "Alice dress" so I said that Alice in Wonderland and Victorian fashion were an inspiration for this fashion style. She said her daughter would love the dress so I told her to have her daughter look up Angelic Pretty. I don't actually know how to pronounce "Metamorphose temp de fille" and "Angelic Pretty" is a lot easier to remember anyways! So who knows, I may have started some girl down the path to lolita due to an encounter with her mum ^__^

Tuesday was an even more casual day, and nothing more to say about it!

Skirt: Metamorphose temps de fille Patisserie Dream
Socks, Wristcuffs & Headbow: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand

And would you believe it? With that outfit I've now worn every main piece (that currently fits me) this year! Before the end of the month too ^__^

So naturally, my next outfit had to be with Shirring Princess so that I've worn every main piece while working from home, not just in this year. Double achievement!

JSK: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Parka: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand

A super simple casual coord, but that's just how I like it! I do feel a little bad though - Shirring Princess is such an cute, elegant, quintessentially lolita piece and I'm just loving doing casual stuff with it! It deserves a princessy coord, but I don't think my wardrobe can actually furnish one!

I also popped over to my mum's in this outfit (she liked it) and went grocery shopping. I enjoyed catching glimpses of my bustle back bouncing in the shop windows, and was reminded of when I used to wear whatever I wanted just for fun. Wearing lolita so much during this lockdown has really unlocked something in me, and I like it.

My last outfit for April was experimental, though not dramatic - I wanted to try wearing Flower Bottle in a classic way. I think it worked out rather nicely even though the skirt really is too sweet for it.

Skirt: Metamorphose temps de fille
Cutsew: The Black Ribbon
Socks: Innocent World
Shoes: Bodyline
Hair Corsage: Dangerous Nude
Brooch: Madillustration
Everything else: Offbrand

And that's it for April! While I has a couple of three-day work weeks and kind of didn't keep up with my writing Fridays as intended, I still wore lolita 17 times this month - absolutely a record for me! Though sometimes I don't want to get dressed in the morning, and I do often remove accessories throughout the day and sometimes get changed at lunch, wearing lolita for work has been absolutely amazing!

AYWI30C #9: As gothic as you can go

When I got up to this prompt in the challenge I started inwardly cursing myself. I don't do gothic! Why did I include this?

I mean, I included it because I really wanted Around Your Wardrobe in 30 Coordinates to be about fully stretching the options of your lolita collection. And it served its purpose because much as I did struggle with this, I think I pulled together a passable gothic lolita outfit.

First of all...apologies for the photo quality! I fixed what I could in photoshop but photographing all black indoors is a challenge. Also, never again will I do a flatlay where the main pieces are both chiffon because it was nigh impossible to make they lie nicely flat!

Ahem. I also have three further comments to make. I would probably use some lace tights (or perhaps even fishnets, actually yes, most likely fishnets) if wearing this but they look awful in flatlay form so I included my most appropriate OTKS instead. I also could not find my black handbag, which isn't particularly gothic anyway! Oh well...it's still as gothic as I can go! And lastly...that's glitter on the socks, not dirt...though I have no idea how they got glittery!

Something I did love in this outfit was using my Rogue Aerie jewellery. They're absolutely perfect for gothic looks, nice and opulent. I also like the idea of gothic looks that don't rely on overt symbolism to define them as gothic, so I preferred using these pieces rather than nabbing a cross necklace from our model wardrobe.

I also got a kick (hurr hurr) out of pulling out my Demonia velvet boots for this look. I adore these boots, though I still don't think I've worn them at all! But they add a wonderful Victorian flair to any look and I think they're a truly beautiful footwear option.

Last of all, to tie in with the jewellery I used both red and black flowers along with a rectangle headdress for the hair - a bit oldschool, which to my mind suits the gothic vibe.

I mean, as I often say, I don't think I ever really do gothic all that well. But as much as a struggled with this, it was fun to see how much of a gothic lolita look I could put together from my lolita wardrobe.

Coordinates from September - October 2018

The first part of September swept by in a bit of a blur. After we got back from New Zealand we had a bit of settling in to do, and it wasn't until towards the end of the month that I actually got my lolita wardrobe organised and properly accessible. But when I did...I was back!

Literally the day that I reorganised my clothing I wore lolita for the first time in what felt like forever. I called James over to look at how prettily I'd arranged my racks, and said "hey, would you care if I wore lolita while assisting on your photoshoot this afternoon?" (because it's not the most practical of clothing to move lights and furniture around in, so I like to be considerate and check) and his gratifying reply was "I insist that you do!"

So I did ^__^

JSK & Headbow: Rococo Soul Jam Paradise
Bolero: Handmade
Socks: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: Bodyline
Bag: Baby the Stars Shine Bright

I was so ridiculously happy to be wearing lolita again. I hadn't realised how much I'd missed it, and how the lack of it was just one more factor in me feeling not-quite-settled in our new house. It was such an instant mood boost to wear something cute and fluffy again! I also got lots of compliments (including from the cashier with cute round glasses at the chemist we ducked into before the shoot) and James and I went out with the friends we were shooting with for a drink afterwards. All in all a great day and an outfit that I really enjoyed.

Also click here if you want to see what we shot that day, since it's quite a contrast to how I looked! It's Facebook-friendly but not quite safe for work, FYI.

And then, just like the start of September the start of October vanished into the abyss...because I got sick. Again. Bronchitis followed by a lung infection this time. Sigh. I took six days off work in a row, I was that sick. Grateful I could do that (and not have to do anything like move house or travel internationally) but I was so frustrated to be sick again. I was the sickest I've been since I met James to be honest, and it sucked.

But after getting my birthday haul in I decided I had to wear one of my new dresses before my birthday month ended, so in mid-October I once again got dressed up (in Teddy Chocolatier this time) to help out on another photoshoot. I ended up sweating horribly for part of the day, then getting rained on but hey, I looked cute!

JSK & Shoes: Metamorphose
Bolero: Handmade
Bag: Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Everything else: Offbrand & taobao

Last of all I wore a lolita Hufflepuff outfit for Halloween at work! I felt very cute and got many compliments, even from strangers on the way to the train ^__^

Skirt: Victorian Maiden
Blouse: The Floral Notebook
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand

So I didn't wear lolita that much over the past two months, but that's okay. I enjoyed it when I did wear it, and I feel like I'm starting to get a bit more...I don't know...personal style? I'm just feeling more and more comfortable in lolita, and feel more "me" in it. Which is awesome and leaves me feeling pretty good about it all ^__^

Coordinates from May - June 2018

Due to my relative inactivity on this blog at the moment I'm posting this a little later than I normally would. Not that anyone probably noticed or cares, but I like acknowledging discrepancies in my posting schedule ^__^

I had a bit of a break from wearing lolita for most of April and the start of May. Not really deliberate, I just didn’t have the chance. So when a Friday in May rolled around and James offered to drive me to the station in the morning, rather than walking like usual, I jumped on the chance to dress up. It was a super cold day, so my fleece-lined tights were a must, and from there I just built up a very comfortable, very casual outfit. And I ended up really, really loving it! I got a bunch of compliments at work as well, which was nice. And it reminded me how much I like wearing purple.

Skirt: Victorian Maiden
Shirt: TeePublic
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand

Honestly, I think this is the most typically casual I’ve ever gone in lolita, and I rather liked it. Nerdy t-shirt plus a lolita skirt? I think I’ve found my new favourite thing.

Speaking of nerdy, I next wore lolita to see Solo with James. Honest talk? I only wore lolita because my one pair of comfy jeans were in the wash ^__^

Like the previous outfit, this one came together from concerns about comfort and practicality. I picked my most comfy skirt, paired it with an easy to wear and long sleeved cutsew (because Winter), long socks for the same reason, flat shoes and simple accessories. And again, I actually rather liked it! I wouldn't normally go with this colour combo (ivory? With my black-and-red?) but I think it worked out pretty okay. It's not a mindblowing outfit by any means but it was cute and comfortable.

Skirt: Handmade
Cutsew, sock & shoes: Metamorphose temps de fille
Everything else: Offbrand

I next wore lolita to work on a Friday (again). It’s Winter here right now, and I do not like the cold at all so I haven’t really been up for dressing up much since lolita doesn’t really lend itself to bundling up in a thousand layers. But I braved it on this Friday and rather liked the result! So many cherries, much wow.

Skirt: Handmade
Cardigan: Banned
Bow clip: Me Likes Tea
Socks: Angelic Pretty
Everything else: Offbrand

I wasn’t able to take a full photo so have a bathroom selfie and a shoe shot; together they give you the general gist. I actually really want to redo this cardigan and skirt combo with even more cherry things, socks and a hairclip at the very least. But that might be too much. Or not…

So that's my lolita outfits from the past couple of months. Nothing particularly outstanding, but I'm glad that I'm keeping up wearing this adorable fashion.

Coordinates from July - September 2017

I was on a roll with lolita these past three months! I wore 8 lolita outfits for a bunch of different reasons, and I'm excited to share them all with you. September in particular was my lolita month ^__^

The first time I wore lolita in this quarter was at the end of July for the Newcastle lolita picnic meetup, which I posted about here.

JSK & shoes: Bodyline
Blouse: The Floral Notebook
OTKS: Innocent World
Beret and collar: Peacockalorum
Flower: Offbrand

I really enjoyed this outfit! It was quite simple in a way, but very me - brown, floral, fawn fur…what’s more me than that? I also enjoyed how this outfit morphed from my first idea that I actually tried laying out as a flat lay.

To be honest, I changed the blouse because the brown one was too tight on my arms at the time and then, with that changed I thought I may be able to add some fawn fur, which didn’t quite work with the brown blouse. So in the end it looked pretty different but I think I liked it even more!

And, in case you didn't see the post I actually put this coordinate in a CGL draw thread and received some amazing drawings!

In August after I got my July haul in I decided to wear Berry Stripe to work on a casual Friday. This is not really a proper lolita outfit because I couldn’t find my petticoat in the morning so there’s no poof as well as being super simple! But one of my goals for this year was to wear my lolita items more, even if it’s just in non-lolita outfits, so I did and I’m sharing it ^__^

OP: Metamorphose temps de fille Berry Stripe
Bolero: Banned
Everything else: Offbrand

I couldn’t fit my whole self in this (work bathroom mirror) photo, but the bottom half isn’t interesting anyway, just black tights and black flats. I still felt so happy and cute wearing this to work though! I even took a selfie on the train! Public selfie taking is a rarity in Roli-land…

Then I started September off the right way by wearing lolita to work on the first day of the month! Not much to say about this outfit really, but I got some nice compliments on the skirt and my weeby co-worker recognised it a lolita. My friend/housemate/workmate Natalie was lovely enough to take photos for me as we walked into work form the train station. Due to being all black I've lost a bit of detail here, but I enjoyed wearing this outfit!

Skirt: Victorian Maiden
Cutsew: The Black Ribbon
Flower: Taobao
Everything else: Offbrand

On the third weekend in September I achieved a personal record - I wore lolita on both days of the weekend. Well, for the parts where I couldn't stay in my pyjamas, that is!

On the Saturday evening I dress up cute to go play Cards Against Humanity with James and some friends. It was a great night and I got several outfit compliments too! And of course, CAH was the usual horrifyingly funny experience ^__^

Skirt & Cutsew: Metamorphose temps de fille <3 Patisserie Dream
OTKS: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Shoes: Bodyline
Bag: Angelic Pretty
Accessories: Offbrand/taobao/Pastel Skies

I really enjoyed this outfit, and loved being so damn cute. Black x pink x white is love ^__^

Though, when James was taking outfit photos for me I managed to make such a terrible facial expression I just had to share...

The next day James and I went out in the morning to check out a local photography studio we will probably be using in the future and I decided to dress up again. I only had 20 minutes to get ready so it's quite a simple outfit but I rather liked it.

OP & Headbow: Metamorphose temps de fille Egg Art set

Then I wore Berry Stripe for work on a Friday again in a more properly lolita way. Nat was kind enough to snap a photo for me again, and I got compliments from workmates and the lady working at the Red Cross (Nat and I did some spontaneous op shopping on the way to the station after work) said she loved my dress. I also ended up putting my hair in a low bun which I think actually looked a heap nicer than just loose but didn't grab a photo at that time ^__^

I kept the ball rolling that weekend when James and I spontaneously went to visit one of my sisters on the Sunday. We were in the middle of a heatwave so I ummed and ahhed about wearing lolita, but decided that since I was going to be sticky and uncomfortable regardless, I may as well be sticky, uncomfortable, and cute! So I wore a very casual outfit that would survive some rough and tumble with my nieces and nephew (turned out to be only one niece home...much easier to manage) and though I didn't love the outfit it was still nice to dress up.

I also have a bonus photo cuddling one of my sister's bunnies ^__^ This was entirely James's idea, and stolen from his Instagram. Gotta love it when your partner has better lolita photo ideas than you do!

And then I saw the month out with a bang. On the last day of September James and I did two photoshoots with Angie, a model friend of ours, and one of the two looks was a lolita one! I got James to snap a quick shot on my phone so I could share it here with an outfit rundown for both of us.

My JSK, both shoes, Angie's OTKS: Bodyline
Angie's JSK, both blouses: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright (got to put her in Shirring Princess!)
My headbow: Meta
Everything else: Offbrand/taobao

Of course I'll be sharing the final photos here since they're on topic for the blog, but if you want to see them first and also see our super awesome steampunk photos as well - complete with genuine steam trains, mind you - I suggest following our facebook pages.

So those are my latest lolita outfits! I'm really, really pleased with how much I was able to wear lolita, especially in September, and also that I participated in the community more and did a photshoot! And I'm keen to see what the rest of the year holds  ^__^

Oh and PS today is my birthday! Just thought I would mention that since it'd feel weird if I posted on my birthday and didn't say anything, lol.
