Coordinates from July - August 2023

A bit of warmer weather at the start of July made me decide to wear lolita for a day when James had a model friend of ours over for a making day, I wanted to do grocery shopping, and was going to drive said friend home. If I had to change out of my comfy WFH PJs I figured I may as well be cute.

And oh my goodness I don't know why but this coord made me feel super duper adorable! I was grinning as I got dressed, felt sassy at the supermarket, and it just made me super happy ^__^

As well a taking my full coord photo James snapped some portraits for me, so here's one of those as well.

And and and the cutest thing happened that day. While we were eating lunch outside a young magpie came close...and ate out of James's hand! In the end, we each got to feed it until it decided it was full and went away. Funnily enough, when I told my mum about it later she said it had been upstairs on the verandah where she had fed it once, but no more. On her refusal it had flown downstairs so apparently, like a cat, magpies have never been fed before if they want food!

Then at the end of the month I wore lolita for a failed attempt at filming a YouTube video. First I had technical difficulties, then I ran out of time, so in the end got nothing usable and will have to re-shoot. But at least I looked cute ^__^

The best thing about this coord is that I didn't choose it! It was picked for me by fellow YouTuber Majestick Dream, and I loved it. It's very much my style but I don't think I would have ended up picking this exact coord on my own - it's very me but just enough different that it was really enjoyable and felt exciting to wear.

If you, dear reader, feel like dressing me up you can see my current capsule wardrobe here ^__^ Just drop a comment or message me on Facebook or Instagram, I'd love to hear from you.

Aaaaand that's it for these two months. There were a few times when I planned to dress up, but it didn't happen for one reason or another. Oh well, tis what tis.

See you next roundup!

Coordinates from January - April 2023

Would you look at that...nary a coord from December until April...

But oh well. I did wear lolita few times for YouTube videos, but I don't really count those as "worn outfits" so they never get included in these posts. And, of course, moving house is a big deal so I really don't care that I didn't wear lolita for months. However, once we got into April I started to feel the urge again so here we are ^__^

The urge, to be quite frank, was kickstarted when James did an Easter lolita photoshoot. Our models wore adorable, slightly OTT coords with Dramatic Rose and even though I was just assisting, I had to join in the lolita fun, so I put together a comfortable, practical coord.

Skirt: Wonderpunk Jurassic Party
Cutsew: Handmade
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

It honestly felt so good to wear lolita again, it made me super happy. And I was also chuffed to wear the cutsew I made and to have it look so good! If you're interested, I have a making-of video on my YouTube ^__^

I next wore lolita a week later when I hosted a writing day, which was a very good day - shots, cheese, and about 2k words written.

JSK: Metamorphose temps de fille Teddy Chocolatier
Cutsew: Handmade
Headbow: Angelic Pretty
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

My next coord was completely unplanned, because it was chosen for me by Paulina of Cupcake Kamisama for the Lolita Fashion Youtubers "Dress Me Up" collab! When I mentioned when I was planning to shoot the video, my lovely husband James suggested doing a proper photoshoot and we did, and it was so fun to do modelling again ^__^

This photo here is unedited to just show off the outfit, but stay tuned for the YouTube video and also the final edited photos on my Facebook.

Skirt: Wonderpunk Jurassic Party
Blouse: Glitter Tale
Haori: Vintage
Socks: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: Bodyline
Bag: Axes Femme
Lace Headdress: Dangerous Nude
 Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

I honestly kind of love this outfit - it just works! But I don't see myself wearing Jurassic Party like this again, I think this styling was a bit too far out of my comfort zone...and that's why I'm super grateful to Paulina for picking it. It's good to get stretched every once in a while!

Overall, it was good to get back into lolita after such a long break. I'm starting to feel settled and functional, and I have a good feeling about the rest of the year, so we'll see what coords that results in ^__^

Coordinates from September 2021

September was all over the place. The weather, my brain, everything lol. But I wore lolita a few times so as per usual please enjoy this coord roundup.

I first wore lolita to WFH, mostly because I had a quick YouTube video I wanted to film in my lunchbreak! But it felt really nice to dress up for work again.

JSK: Metamorphose temps de fille Rose Stripe Shirring
Blouse: Glitter Tale
Haori: Vintage
Socks & Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

I tend to take most of my accessories off after my outfit photo, and James happened to come into our computer room as I did so, told me I looked adorable, and got me to pose for the below. Hiding my work shame!

By accident, my next outfit with Jurassic Party came exactly one year after I last wore the skirt! Such as cool and unexpected coincidence!

Anyway, I only dressed up because I needed to go to the post office after work, and decided that I'd be cute for the afternoon's work Zoom meetings. Though I did have my accessories off for work ^__^

Skirt: Wonderpunk Jurassic Party
Blouse: Glitter Tale
Socks & Bag: Angelic Pretty
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao/Handmade

I actually really like how this outfit turned out, even though the colour balance is all over the place. And I got three compliments while I was out, and I was only at the shops for all of fifteen minutes. And the husband liked it too, and took lots of cute pictures for me ^__^

Then I wore lolita to WFH again, just because it was a Friday and I was not very motivated. Nothing particularly noteworthy about this outfit, but it did help with the motivation issue somewhat.

OP: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Tartan Check
Shoes & Socks: Bodyline
Wristcuffs: Angelic Pretty
Everything else: Offbrand

This outfit was originally put together with a pink bolero, but it got really hot, so I subbed it out for wristcuffs. Though, like all WFH coords, the accessories are kind of a lie, because they just go on for the photo! There is also no petticoat, the shame ^__^

My last outfit for the month was on the last day of the month. It came into existence for two reasons. Firstly, I realised when putting my previous coord into my spreadsheet (yes, I have a spreadsheet) that I had worn every main piece that fits me this year...except for Patisserie Dream. And second, James fixed my pretty rainbow necklace. Since both those elements fit together well, I figured I had to do it...and got it in my head I should do it by the end of the month, lol.

Skirt: Metamorphose temps de fille Patisserie Dream
Cutsew: The Black Ribbon
Bolero & Socks: Angelic Pretty
Headbow: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao/The Decora Factory

I had a lot of fun doing a massive colourful look. Well, as colourful as you can get with a lot of black! It's a very "me" kind of vibe and I think it was a great way to end off the month. I particularly enjoyed my accessory choices, so have a selfie ^__^

And that's all for September! I'm in denial about another month being over, but at least I looked cute doing it.

Coordinates from August - September 2020

I tried to start August on the right foot, lolita-wise, but on the first Monday of the month I realised the sleeves of the cutsew I'd chosen to wear were too tight for comfort, and the night-time dew meant that my freshly washed petticoat was still damp, so I gave up. And honestly, that set the tone for August, and I didn't end up wearing lolita until the end of the month.

But that's okay. I've recently started trying really hard to life and mental health into a better position, and part of that is not forcing myself to do thing just because I feel like I should. So I'm only wearing lolita when it makes me happy, not because I decided months ago that wearing lolita to work from home was a good idea. It's not a bad idea, but I'm not going to force it. It's got to bring me joy and not just be a thing that I do.

So my first lolita outfit was worn to run an errand and go to an appointment on the last Friday of the month. And for my outfit photo I asked James to snap me on our awesome new couch!

OP & Headbow: Lady Sloth Verrry Berry Picnic
OTKS: Metamorphose temps de fille

The outfit isn't much to write home about, but it felt good to wear lolita again. I also happened to have a pretty decently matching mask from Pastel Poisons which I wore while interacting with people, so I grabbed a selfie in that too ^__^

Then it was September, I got my "July" haul in and was really excited to wear some of my new things...so I did the very next day for working from home!

Skirt: Metamorphose temps de fille
Cutsew: The Black Ribbon
Bolero: Maxicimam
OTKS, Necklace & Bracelet: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

I still have so much love for Patisserie Dream, it's such a perfect print to me. But most of all...OMG this new bolero is perfect! Seriously, if you're plus-size I really, really recommend Maxicimam. This is my new favourite item of lolita outwear, it's so comfy and warm and looks really good.

A week and a bit passed before I felt the lolita urge again. I almost didn't wear the outfit I'd pulled out the night before, but since I had a tiny Zoom meeting with my awesomely nerdy coworker, I decided I actually get dressed rather than repping the PJs. And I'm happy I did, because I really liked this outfit!

Skirt: Wonderpunk Jurassic Party
Cutsew: Mary Rose
Socks: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/Handmade

Jurassic Party is a challenging piece for me since I don't really have much lavender or purple in my wardrobe, but this year I've managed to wear it a few different ways so I'm happy ^__^

I was starting to get more back into the lolita vibe, so the next Monday I wore a coord to work from home in again. Nothing really noteworthy about this one (except my discovery that this dress won't fit my new petticoat) but that's okay.

OP: Metamorphose temps de fille Berry Stripe
Cutsew: Mary Rose
Socks: Jane Marple
Shoes: Bodyline
Necklace: Lady Sloth
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

Then it was Thursday and I dressed up again to work from home. And I discovered another piece that won't take my big petticoat - my handmade green skirt.

Skirt & Headbow: Handmade
Cutsew: Axes Femme
OTKS: Innocent World
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

I actually really enjoyed wearing this coord, because it felt like the first time I've done something unique with this skirt! That's not actually true at all, but it is the first time I've worn a different top than my Black Ribbon cutsew with it ^__^

However...I am seriously thinking of parting with this skirt. I've mentioned before that it doesn't excite me, and it still doesn't really. The shape is also a bit awkward. But I get very sad when I think about selling it! Decisions, decisions...

The next day, Friday, I wore lolita to my weekly counselling appointment. Afterwards a friend came to our house and I got lots of compliments ^__^

Skirt & Headbow: Handmade
Cutsew: The Black Ribbon
Cardigan: Banned
Shoes & Socks: Bodyline
Bag: Angelic Pretty
Everything else: Offbrand

With that coord, I have worn every main piece that fits me at least three times this year. Wow! I'm really happy with how much I've worn lolita this year, even if I've abandoned my original goal of daily wear while working from home. Changing goals is okay! I've been keeping a running list of what order I wore things in so my main pieces get somewhat equal wear, but I think from here on I'm just going to wear what I feel like for a while ^__^

And that's all for August and September! I have a feeling that October is going to be a little more prolific in terms of outfits. After all, I'm on a roll but also warmer weather is coming and that makes getting out of my PJs in the morning a lot more appealing!

Coordinates from June 2020

We get used to one way of life and them things change again, isn't that right? So here's an entire month's worth of outfits because my lolita wearing tapered off dramatically over June. There are two main reasons for that.

Firstly - it's Winter here now, and I am cold! So I'd much rather work from home while rugged up in something cosy than get dressed, even in clothes I love. And secondly, our housemates moved out at the start of the month which meant James and I have changed up our entire house. In great news - I now have a dedicated lolita space, which I will share on this blog once I've actually organised everything (which will probably take a good long time). In not so great news - I just don't deal well with change, so coupled with the environmental difficulties of dressing up I just haven't been up for it emotionally either.

But that's okay! I've still enjoyed wearing lolita in June, even if it feels like I've hardly worn it at all compared to previous months.

This first working from home coord isn't much to write home about, but it was cute and comfortable. I have to say though, I am really starting to want some purple shoes to match both Jurassic Party and Verrry Berry Picnic ^__^

Skirt: Wonderpunk
T-shirt: Listen Flavour
Socks: Metamorphose temps de fille
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

The next week I had to physically go to the office on Tuesday, and wearing pants and seeing real life human beings got me back into the lolita groove to work from home on Wednesday. Again, a simple coord and not much to say about it!

OP & Socks: Metamorphose temps de fille
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

The I didn't wear lolita again until Wednesday the following week, because I had a Zoom meeting. Since I had to get out of my PJs anyway I figured I'd actually wear something I enjoyed! I still find it funny that I'm feeling kind of guilty about being a "once a week" lolita at the moment while last year I was lucky to be a "once a month lolita". How quickly our standards change!

JSK: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Socks & Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/Taboao

Almost another full week went by until I was miserable, and realised that forcing myself to wear lolita to work would help. And it did! It felt great to dress up again and I had a lot of fun putting this coord together. I really love Flower Bottle, can't believe I almost got rid of it!

Skirt: Metamorphose temp de fille
Cutsew: The Black Ribbon
Haori: Vintage
Socks: Innocent World
Shoes: Bodyline
Bag: Coquettish Tiara
Everything else: Offbrand

James and I went out to get some Thai food in my lunch break (by which I mean, he drove me to get take-out...for me!) so I even wore lolita outside of my home! It's also why I have a handbag, that bag is actually my everyday bag these days ^__^

And that was my June in coords! As it continues to get colder I have a very strong feeling I'm not going to be wearing lolita much while working from home, and NSW seems to be going well with easing lockdown restrictions so I may be working in the office again before too much longer. But we will see what July brings ^__^

Coordinates from 16 - 30 April 2020

I have to say, it feels absolutely surreal to be posting so many outfits! Very, very good but also just...odd. I've never worn lolita this much before and I'm loving it!

Continuing right along with the working from home outfits, here's a cute outfit (but a terrible self-taken photo, ugh) with Jurassic Party. I don't have any further commentary on this outfit, but I liked it.

Skirt: Wonderpunk
Headbow: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

I had a long-long weekend (Friday to Monday, yee-hah!) after this, so didn't wear lolita until the next Tuesday when I pulled out another sweet-wa coordinate (aka wore my haori again) this time with Teddy Chocolatier.

JSK: Metamorphose temp de fille
Haori: Vintage
Socks & Necklace: Angelic Pretty
Everything else: Offbrand/taobao

I was much happier with this coord than the last time I wore this haori, but I'm not chuffed on my sock/shoe combo. Oh well, still a cute and comfy outfit and not liking some aspects means I can totally tweak it and wear it again without it being a repeat ^__^

Wearing wa inspired me to...wear more wa! Ever since we bought kimonos in Japan (which I will post about eventually) I've wanted to try wearing a kimono as a top paired with a lolita skirt and finally I did!

Skirt: Victorian Maiden
Kimono & Obi: Vintage
Socks & Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/taobao

I'm a bit love it/hate it with how this turned out. Aesthetically I think it really works, and I love the combo of kimono, skirt and obi. It was also surprisingly comfortable! However...I'm just bad at wearing kimono and tying obi, and at folding the kimono up properly (sorry about that bit hanging out!). None of this is surprising because this is the first time I've done either other than practising the obi a little bit the night before. It's a bit embarrassing to do such a poor job, but at the same time...for a first time, not bad! Hence the mixed feelings.

However, overall I enjoyed this kind of style so I hope to wear it more and get better at doing so! And James really liked it too, which is always a plus. Husband compliments make me feel a hundred times better about any outfit!

Following that I wanted something very simple for Thursday's working from home day, so pulled out my trusty Berry Stripe. Nothing much to say about this coord!

OP: Metamorphose temps de fille
Cardigan: Banned
Socks & Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand/taobao

Friday turned into a photoshoot day (check out my Facebook for some cool stuff!) rather than a writing day, so fast forward to the following Monday where the working from home continues!

Since it was a Monday I wore another pretty simple outfit with a bit of a twist...when picking accessories I just chose what made me happy! Hence the Disney ears and the unflattering UTKS. Not perfectly coordinated and honestly a bit weird, but just what I felt like wearing on the drizzly Monday. And James got me to do silly poses (which are honestly so me) so basically, yeah, this is ita and I don't care.

OP: Metamorphose temp de fille Egg Art
Bolero: Peace Now
Socks & Shoes: Bodyline
Ears: Tokyo Disneyland
Bracelet: Closet Child

I also went out (sans ears) in my lunchbreak to do some groceries and a lady asked me if I was wearing an "Alice dress" so I said that Alice in Wonderland and Victorian fashion were an inspiration for this fashion style. She said her daughter would love the dress so I told her to have her daughter look up Angelic Pretty. I don't actually know how to pronounce "Metamorphose temp de fille" and "Angelic Pretty" is a lot easier to remember anyways! So who knows, I may have started some girl down the path to lolita due to an encounter with her mum ^__^

Tuesday was an even more casual day, and nothing more to say about it!

Skirt: Metamorphose temps de fille Patisserie Dream
Socks, Wristcuffs & Headbow: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand

And would you believe it? With that outfit I've now worn every main piece (that currently fits me) this year! Before the end of the month too ^__^

So naturally, my next outfit had to be with Shirring Princess so that I've worn every main piece while working from home, not just in this year. Double achievement!

JSK: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Parka: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand

A super simple casual coord, but that's just how I like it! I do feel a little bad though - Shirring Princess is such an cute, elegant, quintessentially lolita piece and I'm just loving doing casual stuff with it! It deserves a princessy coord, but I don't think my wardrobe can actually furnish one!

I also popped over to my mum's in this outfit (she liked it) and went grocery shopping. I enjoyed catching glimpses of my bustle back bouncing in the shop windows, and was reminded of when I used to wear whatever I wanted just for fun. Wearing lolita so much during this lockdown has really unlocked something in me, and I like it.

My last outfit for April was experimental, though not dramatic - I wanted to try wearing Flower Bottle in a classic way. I think it worked out rather nicely even though the skirt really is too sweet for it.

Skirt: Metamorphose temps de fille
Cutsew: The Black Ribbon
Socks: Innocent World
Shoes: Bodyline
Hair Corsage: Dangerous Nude
Brooch: Madillustration
Everything else: Offbrand

And that's it for April! While I has a couple of three-day work weeks and kind of didn't keep up with my writing Fridays as intended, I still wore lolita 17 times this month - absolutely a record for me! Though sometimes I don't want to get dressed in the morning, and I do often remove accessories throughout the day and sometimes get changed at lunch, wearing lolita for work has been absolutely amazing!

Lolita Sales

As I mentioned in my coming out of hiatus post, I have done a very big clear out of my lolita wardrobe recently. Therefore I have lots of items in search of loving homes!

So this post is just a brief promotion of my gigantic sales album on Facebook, which also contains a lot more than just lolita, just so you know. Contact me there if there’s anything you’re keen on buying and know that I’m happy to take offers ^__^

And because a blog post if boring without pictures, here’s a few of the pretty things I’m parting ways with…

Yes, I even reduced my OTK collection!

And Wonder Party deserves a new home where it'll be worn and loved ^__^

Oh! And we are also selling off the last of the Wonderpunk Jurassic Party fabric so if you loved the cute little dinosaurs but didn’t get one of our skirts, now’s your chance to make whatever you want with this adorable print!

AYWI30C #17: Something you really like, but wouldn’t wear

Okay, so this prompt was really freaking hard! Every option I thought of was easily followed by thoughts of the kind scenario I would happily wear it for. Yes, a lot of those situations were photoshoots, but still! I was really wracking my brain to try and figure out something that I like but couldn't see myself wearing. Serious, I was stumped.

Inspiration finally struck when I got my July haul in...

See, I love Jurassic Party, but the colour is a rare one in my wardrobe so my options are limited. This new cutsew really opens up my options...but I don't see myself wearing this skirt in this way!

Which is kind of a pity. I really like this look and I think I managed to nail the colour balance pretty well despite not having much that matches the dark purple.

But overall, it's both a little too monochromatic and a little too lavender for my tastes. I'm really enjoying adding more lavender into my lolita wardrobe, and am planning to add more purple as well, but for now, it's a bit much all together.

Which is not to say that it won't change! Even seeing this outfit out made me fall a little bit in love. I just don't think it's enough love when there's so many other ways I could coordinate this skirt that feel more "me".

In a weird way I was both happy and sad to have finally come up with a coordinate for this prompt. I'm glad that the topic is ticked off the list and I can move forwards, but it's an odd, bittersweeet feeling to put together something pretty and still not get excited to wear it.

What about you? Would you wear this coordinate?

Coordinates from March - April 2019

As if the universe wanted to force balance to my lolita life, April and March were somewhat lolita-heavy months as opposed to January's two coords and February's zero. Yay for pretty clothes!

First up I (surprise, surprise) wore lolita to go to the movies with James, this time to watch Captain Marvel (which I loved BTW). This was shortly after I'd posted an entry in my Around Your Wardrobe in 30 Coordinates which featured a black, white and lavender coordinate and, well, you can see where I got the inspiration from!

Skirt: Wonderpunk Jurassic Party
Cutsew & Bag: Angelic Pretty
Everything else: Offbrand/Taobao

I was really excited to finally wear Jurassic Party out, and I'm super happy that my coordinate challenge sparked the inspiration to wear it in this way. I felt super cute, and received many compliments from James and even one from a random man in the cinema. So it was a happy first outing for this print ^__^

James snapped a lot of cute photos for me so sharing this one too!

Next I wore another casual coord to go with James to get his hair done - back to a brilliant mohawk, this time in blue and pink with a cyber pattern shaved into the side. He pulls off awesome hair so well, it always makes me want to book something equally as wow for me.

Skirt: Handmade
Cutsew: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: Bodyline
Everything else: Offbrand

I know, I know, I wore the same cutsew two outfits in a row but that's because it's the most awesome thing ever! Totally need more tops in this style!

After that I intended to wear lolita for the second day of Madman Anime Festival in Sydney since life had plans for me other than finishing day two cosplays for James and I...but I forgot my petticoat! Oh well ^__^

I did, however, bust out a lolita coordinate to take my mother in law out for dinner for her 75th birthday. I really liked this outfit, and she seemed to as well, so I was happy. My shoes died though...the front bows came off as I put them on and the suede started coming away from the heels as the night went on. But they had a good final outfit at least!

And then...the Tokyo coordinates! I had packed three lolita coords, but in the end decided against wearing lolita to Tokyo Disneyland which turned out to be a great decision.

First of all, I wore lolita on our first full day in Japan, which was also the first time we visited Harajuku! Unfortunately it was a rainy day so the photoshoot we intended to also do didn't end up happening, but it was still a great experience to wear lolita while walking down Takeshita Dori for the first time.

Bolero: Heart E
Socks and Bag: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Shoes: Bodyline
Necklace & Bracelet: Angelic Pretty
Brooch: MadIllustration
Everything else: Offbrand/taobao

However, the W Heart C vintage store had a lovely photo corner, where James obliged in snapped some pics for me ^__^

And then I wore lolita again on Saturday...to Harajuku! On this day we met up with some Aussie friends and one of their Aussie friends to hit up Meiji Jingu and then the backstreets. We were an amazingly colourful bunch, and did photoshoots throughout the day. Check out James's Facebook page to see everything once he's done editing!

Skirt, Cutsew & Socks: Metamorphose temps de fille
Shoes: Bodyline
Headbow: Angelic Pretty
Everything else: Offbrand/taobao

I love the fact the unintentionally I wore a lot of Meta in Japan (my unworn outfit was Baby and AP). Repping my favourite brand y'all! And Patisserie Dream is so cute, I'm just loving that I got to wear it out in such a place and way.

BTW, if you wear lolita to Harajuku on a weekend...prepare to have your photo taken, often without asking. I mean, I wasn't the only interesting one in our group but James and I got asked for photos even when we were temporarily apart form the group so yeah, be prepared!

Colourful friends!

So that was my last two months in loltia coordinates! Things have been a little bit crazy lately, hence my less frequent posting, and I'll be posting a personal update shortly as well. But I see more free time in my future and therefore...more blogging!

Lolita Blog Carnival: Compare your most and least worn main piece

Now this is an interesting topic because you know me, I love analysing things and figuring out the why of it all. And this time I get to turn that onto my own lolita habits!

As a quick note before I ramble on, I only chose the most and least worn main pieces from the items that currently fit me. It didn't seem fair otherwise, since there are pieces I've never worn due to fit issues that I hope to resolve and pieces that I used to wear a lot when they still fit properly but can't now.

But we'll start with the least worn because it's obvious. I have not yet worn my Wonderpunk Jurassic Party skirt, and I know exactly why. I don't have things that match!

I don't own any tops in lavender or purple, which makes colour balancing really difficult. It coordinates nicely with white or pink, but none of my tops in either colour have fit well enough to wear with a skirt, so I've been out of options until they do. Which is a bummer, because Wonderpunk is our little brainchild, and though it's not typically my style it's super cute and I really want to wear this thing that we designed. So I will...once I drop a dress size or two! Or unless I buy a lavender or purple top that fits me...

See how cute it looks?

On the flip side, there are two main pieces that I wear quite frequently. Since I couldn't be bothered looking back over outfit photos and counting how many times I've worn each to see which was the most worn, I thought I'd feature both of them!

First is my handmade black cherry skirt. Fitting into one of my favourite colour schemes and themes, as well as being really comfortable and easy to care for this is no surprise at all. Also, due to cherries being one of the more "normal" lolita themes, I can wear this casually to work and have done so quite a few times. Though actually, in writing this up I realised I haven't really done a "traditional" lolita outfit with this skirt yet. Onto the "coords I need to wear" list it goes!

And then we have Bodyline's L417 in brown, which I think does actually win over the cherry skirt in terms of frequency of wear. Once again, this JSK gets points for being comfy and easily machine washable, and it doesn't even really need ironing (I should, probably, but I don't). Being brown and floral it goes really well with a lot of things in my wardrobe, and the chiffon ruffles and bustle front mean it can be dressed up, while at the same time it's simple enough to wear in more basic ways. Given that it matches nicely with my handmade short sleeve brown bolero and that I then have a range of legwear and headwear to go with it, it's really an easy go-to if I want to wear lolita but not think too much about it.

This was an interesting post, though the outcome was not unexpected. As I work on getting back into shape and fit into more of my clothes I'l be interested to see if and how my most and least worn main pieces change.
