A bit of warmer weather at the start of July made me decide to wear lolita for a day when James had a model friend of ours over for a making day, I wanted to do grocery shopping, and was going to drive said friend home. If I had to change out of my comfy WFH PJs I figured I may as well be cute.
And oh my goodness I don't know why but this coord made me feel super duper adorable! I was grinning as I got dressed, felt sassy at the supermarket, and it just made me super happy ^__^
As well a taking my full coord photo James snapped some portraits for me, so here's one of those as well.
And and and the cutest thing happened that day. While we were eating lunch outside a young magpie came close...and ate out of James's hand! In the end, we each got to feed it until it decided it was full and went away. Funnily enough, when I told my mum about it later she said it had been upstairs on the verandah where she had fed it once, but no more. On her refusal it had flown downstairs so apparently, like a cat, magpies have never been fed before if they want food!
Then at the end of the month I wore lolita for a failed attempt at filming a YouTube video. First I had technical difficulties, then I ran out of time, so in the end got nothing usable and will have to re-shoot. But at least I looked cute ^__^
The best thing about this coord is that I didn't choose it! It was picked for me by fellow YouTuber Majestick Dream, and I loved it. It's very much my style but I don't think I would have ended up picking this exact coord on my own - it's very me but just enough different that it was really enjoyable and felt exciting to wear.
If you, dear reader, feel like dressing me up you can see my current capsule wardrobe here ^__^ Just drop a comment or message me on Facebook or Instagram, I'd love to hear from you.
Aaaaand that's it for these two months. There were a few times when I planned to dress up, but it didn't happen for one reason or another. Oh well, tis what tis.
See you next roundup!
I absolutely love the Jurrasic Party coord. It's cute and simple, and still packs a punch with all the patterns and textures you were able to squeeze into it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree, the second coord is you, but with a twist, an unexpected combo that is such a vibe (autumn/spring village festival, depending on whether you focus more on the green or the brown and red).
Thank you! I think I've started falling in love with pattern mixing (or back in love, if the patchwork skirts I made as a teenager are any indication...)
DeleteYes, village festival totally sums up that look. I might have to steal a page from your book and start pulling in some folklore influences ^__^
